I am Andreas Sommer, an artist from the beautiful Chiemsee. I find relaxation and creativity for my artistic work in this painterly landscape in south-east Bavaria.
The subjects of my works are inspired by the fantasy of recent decades and the old masters. I am fascinated by the stories and symbols of this old and new world and I try to capture this passion in my works and put it into a new context.
Meine Kunst ist bisher ein Hobby neben meinem Beruf als Ingenieur. Wobei sich beides ideal ergänzt. Denn frei nach Frau Prof. Daniela Hammer-Tugendhat in ihrer Vorlesung:
“Die Wissenschaft ist eine erste Schöpfung mittels des Verstandes, wogegen die Malerei eine zweite Schöpfung mittels der Fantasie ist.”

- 2003–2006: Bleistift- und Markerzeichnungen, Photoshop, Webdesign
- 2006–2011: Fotografie (Schwerpunkt: Naturmakrofotografie)
- 2011–2013: 3D-Modellierung, Rendering-Techniken, Animation (3ds Max, Blender)
- 2016–2020: Strukturiertes Selbststudium bildgestalterischer Grundlagen (Webinare/Fachliteratur). Fokus: Anatomie, Pose, Perspektive, Textur, Komposition. Medien: Bleistift, Kohle, Gouache, Digital Painting (Photoshop, Krita)
- 2021–heute: Traditionelle realistische Ölmalerei
Formale Ausbildung
- 2003–2006: Diplom Kunststofftechnik (TH Rosenheim). Vertiefung: Gestaltung von Freiformstrukturen (Funktion, Design, Ergonomie). Handwerkliche Praktika (Harze, Klebstoffe, Metalle) sowie Farbmetrik.
- 2013–2016: Master ACM (HAW Landshut & TH Ingolstadt). Wissenschaftliche Vorhersage natürlicher Phänomene (u. a. Körperdynamik, Luft-, Wasser- und Wärmeströme).
- 2023: Kunstakademie “La cuna del arte”: “Hyperrealistische Malerei” (Dozent: Jorge Villalba Strohecker).
Projekte
- 2019: Mitwirkung am Projekt “EthicsClub” (Bildserie “Totsünden” und Logodesign).
- 2022: Internationale Pro-bono-Auftragsarbeiten (u. a. Fursona, QSL-Card) mit traditionellen und digitalen Medien.
