Enchanting, creepy but unfinished!
Here I present the drawing of the "Ent-In". A female fantasy character who is a bizarre mixture of tree and woman. And why now "unfinished"? Well, I had originally planned to add some details - especially the hands (the second hand is still missing) and the fly in her hand. But, as is often the case in our creative lives, perhaps that will still happen.
I'm always amazed at the confidence I feel when drawing a final picture if I've made a little scribbly template beforehand. This loose idea then allows me to concentrate on the details and I no longer have to worry about the big shapes and composition. This is particularly important with fantasy motifs, as you often don't work directly from an existing template. It's an enjoyable process that boosts my artistic confidence and I highly recommend it to any beginner.
All in all, it's been a lot of fun working up to this point - and I'm now looking forward to the next result!
